It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default An Interesting little trick

I've noticed a trick that might provide an extra 5 goals a season for people
If give Fullbacks the Long Shot instruction, they will score more. i.e:

Let's use Milan as an example, The right back, Oddo runs up the Right Wing and whips a cross in. Now normaly, the Left Back, Kaladze would wait back with the two DCs, but with the long shot instruction, he will run to the edge of the penalty box waiting for a chance, there's around 70% chance of the cross being headed out of the box, but Kaladze would be waiting and will have a shot.
I also noticed that with the long shots on, the full backs will try and get into the box and score when the opposite fullback is at the byline, resulting in another chance. It seems to work really well, I anyone wants to try it

Interesting, is there a risk that if they don't get a chance you'll be lacking cover at the back?

I doesn't seem like it, if the full backs have high decisions, pace, stamina, work rate, positioning and anticipation they should be able to get back in time.

Its not when you give them shoot from distance instruction. Give them forward runs on often and watch how they get move up the field whenever its possible..try "long distance shoot" on mixed is enough .
I also play milan, and Oddo, cafu and janku have 4-6 goals pr season each - all long shoot.

I am testing this trick right now.
I have Grosso at the left back and he did score 7 goals despite "rarely" on forward runs.

Giving a fullback 'long shots often' plays no bearing on if he gets forward more. Thats all down to forward runs, run with ball and his set piece isntructions and width.
