As the title says, can anybody create a tactic that is generally football played on the ground. Many tactics used by people in this forum have their tactics based on a Tall and Strong Targetman where balls are pumped up to him. I want to create a tactic that does away with this targetman and have football played on the ground.
Reasons for this is because:
1. Its hard finding a big and strong targetman.
2. Fast strikers are easier to find and they are more flashy irl.
How to prove that the tactic is generally played on the ground?
From the highlights it is quite hard to tell the style of football played, whether a pass is considered short or direct etc. Therefore, the only way to tell if the football is played on the ground is by looking at the match stats.
Therefore the stats that we have to look out for are:
1. The amount of headers the FORWARD players have to contest. Forward players should include wingers and AMC. Defensive players doesnt count (Quite obvious why.)
The next thing to look out for is in the highlights. Whether the style of play is like a long ball style. Think liverpool when they had Owen. They would defend deep and hit a long ball for owen to chase so he can slot it in. That kind of style is a No-no cos it is in the air.
I have tried to devise a tactic but have failed, so I have issued a challenge to the people in the forum.
Try setting passing to one, play with a normal midfield. Reduce ttb to low or normal for most players and you should be able to play footy on the ground
Interestingly, how do you tell from the match stats that a ball is played on the ground?? By a greater number of passes?
I'm beginning to dislike these "challenges" cos they are veiled attempts of trying to create a tactic. I'd be more in favour of a specific challenge to create a tactic like say a 4132 which can produce say a high percentage of goals vs SOT; a challenge that produces say 2.5 goals per match but concedes 0.5 goals per match.
If you want people to create a tactic and help you create a tactic then please say so, challenging people to make a tactic because you couldn't create one to produce your preferred style isn't a challenge in any way.
How do you assess a good tactic that has met the criteria of the challenge? You have said it should produce a certain amount of headers?, but you say you want to create a tactic that does away with the TM in your first para.
This is a fairly muddled discussion without a clear goal. I would suggest you rethink it and re-post it one more time. Topic closed
