Hi,
currently hewading towards the end of my second season as Newastle and am doing well in all competitions. So far i have made no moves for any new goalkeepers due to Given's reliability. After looking for Gks however i have found Boruc available on a free, hes 29 and i was wondering if he is worth signing for a title challenging Prem side?? I've seen the previous thread about him but to be honest not much is mentioned about him on the actual game! Just enquiring to see what people think of him on the game and if he is worth snapping up, if only as cover maybe??

For free and as cover, thats a no-brainer for me. Definitely sign him. He's an excellent GK except he's suseptible to the odd blonde moment. His eccentricity is very high. The only thing I wonder about (I've not had him so dont know about it) is whether he'll cause problems within the team. He might whine too much about not getting enough chances in the team and might cause some team-mates to dislike him. I dont know about that. But otherwise, as a GK, he definitely is very good. Great stats. And if he's free then go for it. You wont get anyone better for that price anyway!

Yeah i was considering his eccentricity as i really get put off by a high stat there! prefer mine to be below 10 if at all poss! think i will make a move for him then and if worst comes to the worst and he moans and disrupts etc.. i'll just sell and make a small profit. Win win

As in the goalkeeper makes a miracle, unconventional, save with feet or something like that.

Yeah perhaps op1, but more often than not it just makes them come blundering out pepe reina-style and make a bloody stupid mistake.
Or at least thats the experience i've had with dodgy keepers!!

I doubt it. Its very much negative imo. Maybe he'll pull off one miracle save sometime, but any good goalie with good reflexes will do that anyway. Most of the time, it'll mean stuff like what Lehmann does and what Barthez kept doing. The eccentricity stat to me means how big a show-off the keeper is!!

I hate keepers with high eccentricity, tendency to punch and rushing out stats. Just makes them make mistakes imo.
