Hi
I’m currently managing PSG and while I’m getting close to the end of the season and doing quite well (for PSG anyway) and look set to get a UEFA cup spot (could even grab a Champions league place with a bit of luck).
But I have realised I have not signed a single Frenchman, and my scouts seem useless at finding any good young French players. Could anyone help me out?
Well, Henri Saivet has to be your first signing in that case. One of the best youngsters in the game.
Try Abou Diaby from Arsenal. If he's not playing much, might be available resonably cheap and he's young AND very good. Dont know if he'll come though so do a scout report.
Also, Lassanna Diarra or Mathieu Flamini at Arsenal again. One of them should be available cheap because they are both DM's and with Gilberto being first choice, one of them will be rotation and one backup. I think it'll be Flamini. Get him, he's good.
Again to Arsenal. Armand Traore. Brilliant prospect so doubt they'll let him go cheap. But you can try.
Vincent Degre and Joris Delle are two good French GK's.
Aurelien Teaudors - DC, good prospect.
Omar Benzerga - DM, good pospect.
Vincent Acapandie (sp?) - ST, good prospect.
Mamadou Sakho - DLC
Issiar Dia - ST
Yoann Gouffran - AMR (Recommended!)
Ricardo Faty - DM
There are plenty more but these are the ones I think might just be cheap-cheapish. You can look at people like Hatem Ben Arfa, Samir Nasri, Adel Taarabt, Jeremy Menez, Steven Thicot etc. But doubt they'll want to come to PSG or if they'll be cheap.
I tried to loan Diaby but he decided to go to Deportivo instead. I also offered Flamini a contract but he didn’t want to sign. Didn’t think it was a move in the right direction

I had him in the demo. I tried for Modric then but the swine chose (I think) Fiorentina over me then. Wanted to see what my squad is like then and didnt want too many additions. Winger was what was really needed so bought Gouffran for about 2M or so. He was doing pretty well coming on as a sub or playing the odd game here and there. Dont really remember the stats though.
Yes, even I seem to recall my scouts telling me he'll be a decent signing. However, his stats in dribbling, finishing, first touch, long shots, creativity, stamina, pace are all 15 and above (in my game atleast, looking in season 2). His crossing is 14 right now which can improve with a little training. Same with passing.
I dont know why people go crazy with Modric tbh. If you compare the two, Gouffran is better at most of the stats which matter for a winger (although Modric can play more positions). Modric's passing is better though. Gouffran might not be a starter at a big club (I was playing Arsenal) but he's certainly worth a look for a lesser team (no offence!). Definitely recommended.
