im Athletico Madrid, currently 7 points clear of Barcelona at top of league. just got my scout to look at Baptista, said id have to pay £9 million, hes worth £7.75 million.

then 2 minutes later, madrid have only gone and offered him to me for £3.7 Million, hes accepted contract. previous experiences with him hes been ok, nothing special, but £3.7 million, can i really go wrong?!!

dilemma is that i am rather well blessed in his area AM i.e. maxi rodriguez, jose jurado, raul garcia, aguero and alex! quick responses please, especially if you've had baptista in FM 08! cheers

didn't have him but you can't go wrong for that amount mate and he is a beast

If i were you i'd play him as a Target Man, he's awesome up there and with him and aguero i think they could complement each other really well, big strong striker with small extremely fast striker.

this is always an option, im playing 4-5-1 at the moment and not lost so far this season, so no need to change as of yet, but baptista will obviously give me the option to use him as a target man, hence why im 99.9% certain im going to sign him.

Sign him. Surely. For that price, its a steal for guy who can play quite a few positions. And if he doesnt work out, you can always sell him on next year for a little profit. :thup:

for that price, it'd be silly not to considering the positions he can play. dmc/mc/amc/st isnt it? maybe dmc with a bit of training, he was a dmc in 05 wasnt he?

signed!not gone down too well with jurado and maniche, but to be fair theyr both fringe players anyway so not overly fussed and maniche will be sold at the first available opportunity as will any other moaners!! and yeah the idea of selling him if he isnt a success also good because im likely to get atleast what i bought for him, and no doubt theres always someone who's willing to pay over the odds!

good bit of business that. they offered him to me aswell but i chose today on the response by accident madrid said they didnt want to be rushed and he went on loan to lazio! as for owen he is a very good buy and dosent seem to injury prone

Had him in 2006 as an AMC. Was awesome scoring and providing assists for Koller and Iaquinta.
