I am chelsea and am about to start my 3rd season. I have Aguero and Adriano as 2 world class strikers and had Fred last season. Fred was sold for 15m as he wanted away. I now have Adriano, Aguero and have brought up Sahar but i think i needed another striker if challenging for all trophies...

i was looking at:

Podolski
Pandev
Bojinov
Owen

could i please have some advice on a striker in which you would buy for this situation?

Forget Podolski & Pandev as they are not that great. They are both pretty decent strikers, but I wont like to have to rely on them to get me the goals in matches if either of Adriano & Aguero are injured. Owen, in season 3, would be a bit too old.

Pandev though is flippin awesome. Definitely worth it but wont come cheap as he wont be at Lazio anymore. Some other options are (not considering their price):

Bojan
Cavani
Balotelli
Benzema
Vela
Saivet (you should have got him right at the start though)

Check at Arsenal, Man Utd & Liverpool. Whichever one of them has been doing particularly badly in the league will have some unhappy stars. You might be able to get them cheapish. Van Persie, Torres, Rooney, Tevez all come to mind and they might have bought some other ones as well. If Vela is available get him.

I have left owen and bojinov and negotiated the other players.

this is what has been accepted so far roughly:

Podolski: 25m
Pandev: 30m
Cavani:
Saivet:

but Benzema they want over 30m and Balotelli they want over 20m

so looking at this who would you buy?

Cavani and Saivet sound like the best deals. They are both very young, both become AWESOME and the price is very reasonable. They might not be fit to start straight away for you but give them games in the Carling Cup & FA Cup and they'll give you a headache when you choose a starting lineup.

I expected Pandev to cost your around 30M anyway. And Benzema at 30M, you're actually getting him cheap! He generally doesnt come for a dime below 40M after season 1. Balotelli is not really worht is at over 20M and Podolski at 25M is flipping rip-off!

If you have the money, get Benzema. You'll probably want to replace Adriano with him. If you dont have that much cash, then go for either Cavani or Saivet, depending on whose stats are better and who's more highly rated by your scouts.

Would that be good enough to compete say injuries hit Aguero or Adriano?

I'd say the second one is. Saivet & Cavani are 2 of the best young strikers in the game. Sahar develops ok, but him and Saivet would be a little light-weight I think. I know I'd rather have the second option. Those 4 at their best would be fearsome.
