Ok ever since I started playing FM, I've never liked the idea of playing with a TM. I dont quite like the idea of playing the ball on someones head as I like to play it on the ground mostly (Arsenal fan you see). I started a new game with Arsenal and thought that I'll give playing with a TM a go and see what its like. I've tried it in desperate times before but never been successful. Thing is, I dont really know what settings to have for a TM and how to play with one. So I was wondering if anyone can help me out and give tell me how best to utilise a TM.

Due to Adebayor being ruled out for 5 months, I had to plunge in the market and got Iaquinta into my team. I've always been a fan of his as he's a rare kind who's very strong, great in the air and pretty darned quick too. And he's got very good long range shooting and FK's. Complete package imo. Anyway, I think he's an excellent TM so would like to give it a go with him.

I play 4-1-3-2. Squad:
GK : Lehmann/Lloris
RB : Sagna/Eboue
LB : Clichy/Gallas
CB : Gallas/Toure/Djourou
DM : Flamini
CM : Fabregas/Javi Martinez/Diaby
AMR: Rosicky/Menez
AML: Hleb/Menez/RVP
ST : Iaquinta/Bendtner/Adebayor
ST : RVP/Vela

My FB's are also set on forward runs and crossing often. Rosicky & Hleb mostly have free roles when they play (Menez doesnt).

So can anyone please tell me how to utilise that beast of a man, Iaquinta to the full extent?? Thanks.

Best way to use a TM is to center the team around him. So play to feet or in the air depending on if he has any preferred moves etc. If he's slow then keep the tempo slow and vise versa if he's fast like Iaquinta then make the tempo fast and direct.

You could also make him hold up the ball a little if he's strong to involve other, slower, players lol. I use Tevez as a TM now and those are my settings for him and he plays with Rooney really well

Cheers mate.

But then how do you use your other players to support Tevez? I mean do you play Rooney alongside Tevez or do you have him play just behind in the hole and have him link-up with Carlos? And what about your wingers and midfielders? I'm thinking of playing Van Persie in the hole behind Iaquinta so he can feed off the knock-downs. Is it possible to have a screenshot of your formation? Cheers for your help.

I have Rooney play alongside Tevez, with my wingers running to the FL and FR postitions from ML and MR.

Play a AMC. That way, you can get long balls from your CM, DM, whatever and along the floor from your AMC and wingers.

Hmm, its not letting me edit that post after i put the wrong links down.

Here a the right ones. Sorry all

Formation

Tevez

http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?i...rmationuh2.png

I like to play Tevez off Rooney cause Carlos likes to go deep to get the ball and its a waste putting him up front when he likes to do that. His passing isn't all that bad either so Rooney usually gets the ball. If not he passes to Ronaldo who crosses it in and by the time he does that Tevez has legged it back to knock it home

Thanx a lot mate. I'll try that out and see how it works out for me.

I've been playing around a bit and just settled on a 4-1-2-1-2. Got Flamini as DM, Cesc & Diaby as CM, Hleb as AMC and Iaquinta & RVP as ST. Hleb's gone mad with that formation. 5 goals in 2 games including a hat-trick (like he's ever scored that in his life!!) against none other than Chelsea!!

Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
