I've been experimenting with that against teams placed at an even number in the league (2,4,6,8 etc) with some success. Question is, should I incorporate the left sided sweeper or the more creative but slightly less secure right sided sweeper? I find with a left sided sweeper I can get away without playing a GK, but more beneficial, I don't need an inside forward on the bench whilst playing the right sided sweeper.
Against teams placed at an odd number (1,3,5 etc) in the league, I've been playing a conventional multi sweeper formation with 4 sweepers behind 3 centrebacks and 2 full backs, with a deep defensive line. I play a right sided forward with arrows back to the left sided sweeper and a goalkeeper. I'll report back on my findings in my FM story when I've finished my first season.
