It's about the realism mate. If you want to sign a team full of your namesakes; knock yourself out. It doesn't belong here though.

Scouts find players. That's what they are paid to do.

i've played four seasons so that was my update at the start of the fifth.

i haven't signed any azeri players yet, or anyone called alexis. still it's fun to look (or is that banned too?). i will be signing some azeris as soon as they feel that a club of alfreton town's stature merits their services (in about 5 years then)

one tactic i have tried to use in previous games is to sign as many players with the same name as possible. this is easier to do when you play with random names. this does make the game harder because it is very easy to substitute the wrong players, or put a striker in goal etc.

but surely if a player is good enough to make the team a manager would not not sign him just because they shared a name

Exactly. I have been known to sign the odd Cook or two. But only ones that the scout has unearthed, and that were worthy of a spot on my list.

btw, I think you mean Wenger has signed some "whingers"

Of course. LLM is all about realism. Remember that when you are trying to sign players all with the same name.

But we try play the game as realistically as possible, not like it was real because that's impossible.

And how do you mistake a striker for a goalkeeper? Unless you use something like random names for posistions I don't get how you can do that.
