I decided to start a game as Rusden + Diamonds manager and after finishing second in the first season and winning the playoffs, I find myself in the dizzy heights of League 2!!

Now, I have a bit of cash after wheeling and dealing well in the transfer market and having a decent FA cup and Trophy run, £1.1m in total to spend. I am in desperate need of a good GK and a good DC, does anyone have any suggestions? Even loan deals will do me, thanks.

I manage Rushden. Yes its not LLM but the last time I played CM/FM was using CM3, and Rushden was my team, can't remember how I ended up with them. I had great success with them winning some things. Shall not Brag.

So when i got FM07 I choose them =] Their a good side. Money is impossible. How did you get the 1.1 million? I am in my 3rd season doing surprisingly too well in League One and only have an 85k transfer budget this season. I think just manage whatever the hell way your managing. You don't need help at all.

The reason for the Ru$hden comment is precisely because of how rich they were in CM3.

I cannot honestly remember how rich compared to other clubs in CM3, it was the only club I used with that version. I would think it we would be richer then most Conference teams.

I do remember struggling to buy big players when I was playing with the big boys. Even though I had Chelsea style finances, I suspect because of our small stadium seating limit (around 22,000 seats odd if I remember), I could not splash out for the Brazilians/Spaniards or those big English players and regens. If I could, wages were limited to 20K pounds a week, 50k for exisiting players on my books. And also no matter what exploits I did, I was not considered a big club. Players kept moving to Inter and Juve and what not. Thats how I got the money. Either sell or lose on a free transfer.
