noooo I seriously doubt it starts at 5million. I remember I spent little if I spent at all during my first 3 seasons. Every player was on a free, landing them 6 months before they expire. Of course this was done not by the ways of LLM

I wanted a start low end high career, but did not know there was such a way of playing as LLM. So don't flush me down.

But it's your prerogative to judge based on your experiences. Mine was barely there finances not being able to splash and money if at all. Of course compared to FM07 those days were easy pie~

Getting 1 million plus in transfer money is most likely because someone plays a few premiership side teams in the cups. Although to play a few he would have to win a few and I don't think thats very probable. That's the only real reason I can think of.
