Having read many of the posts on this forum over the past month or so, I understand that people who visit certain fora (namely T&TT and GPG) are looked down upon and are encouraged to go forth and multiply.

I freely admit that I have made occasional forays into said fora, but have no seen the error of my ways.

Now, my question is this, if I start an LLM game with my beloved Workington Reds, will I be shunned as the unenlightened fool I once was? Or will I be given the chance to repent my sins?

Many have started that way Horst. It's more down to you than having our 'approval' - as you might have read in another thread today, LLM isn't something you have to force yourself into - either you want to play this way or you don't.

If you do, welcome, your past sins are forgiven. If you find it isn't to your taste after all, then at least you'll know.

I'd be wary of making sweeping statements about how you've turned your back on the evil ways and will be following the path of the righteous from now on.

LLM isn't to everyone's tastes. While many have tried their hand and found their calling, many more have thrown in the towel after making all sort of grand promises.

Bottom line: we can't all be perfect. Some people just have to learn to look up to those of us who are.

Horst - I don't see anything about posting to T&TT and GP&TG in the LLM forum rules so I believe it's perfectly fine.

It's not even close to being fine. Posting in the heathen threads is not compatible with posting here. That's not debatable.

No doubt you're itching to know why? Well, I'll start by saying LLM is a style of not just playing the game, but how you think about and approach FM.

If you keep claiming otherwise you'll be told again.

Maybe you missed the emphasis in my post. What I meant was: it's not part of ANY rules of this forum.

I am expected to accept any rules that apply to LLM if I want to post in here. I find it perfectly resonable. The problem is - there is no "don't post to T%TT" rule stated anywhere.

Or maybe I just missed it somewhere in the header or the guidelines?

"No tactics naming in LLM forum" is something completely different to "don't post on T&TT".

There's something called the 'Spirit of LLM', which goes a bit further than the forum 'Rules'.

Basically, rules will only get you so far. While you can have your 'No tactics naming in LLM forum' and stick to it like wallpaper paste, you're completely missing the point if you think that's as far as it goes.

The 'spirit of LLM' is playing the game in as realistic a way as possible.
Being a smartarse by saying "it's not part of ANY rules of this forum" seems more than a bit like a way of simply getting around the rules for posting here and only demonstrates that you really don't get the whole idea of LLM.

If you're posting in T&TT and GPG, you are gaining an advantage that a real-life manager would not have. It's therefore unrealistic and so not compatible with the LLM way.

Not that I think you'll pay any attention to this, however.
