2010-2011
I ended up leaving Sant Andreu (Suprise Suprise?). I didn't really want to, but I got about halfway through the season, rock bottom and it seemed like nothing I did worked. I tried dropping players, new tactics, new instructions, everything.
It's a shame, because I don't know why the team underperformed so much. Away from home was our biggest problem, but it was a bit too much for this poor little English manager who had been crying out to have a proper run in the Conference regionals for 4 years.
Applied for a load of jobs, and I ended up going with AFC Wimbledon. I was a bit aprehensive at first that the game may be swung in their favour, but after seeing their position and my first 3 games, everything was back to normal.
We were in the relegation zone and needed to achieve a respectable league position. We had a bit of a transfer kitty, so I sent my scouts out and ended up signing a few backup players.
The one thing I did find funny was one player in the team can play in every position which I haven't seen since an ex bolton/blackburn utility man was in the game.
Another funny note to add. I put up a job add for a GK coach and lo and behind at 50 years old and probably 50 stone, the
Original fat goalie had applied. Being the typical greedy bastard he was, he wanted double what I could afford so I couldn't offer him a contract.
So, I finally got a decent tactic together with Wimbledon and we had a late surge at the end of the season to finish 14th. The board will just have to be happy with that.
So roll on next season. I hope I am able to stay here for a few more years, it's about time I stopped whoring.
