At least in Germany, matches against B-sides result in even lower attendances. Doesn't matter if people could see some stars there, they just don't want to see their team lose against a B side.

Well, the other team are unlikely to bring much of an away support. And unless that player was coming back from a long-term injury, it's unlikely there'd be that much interest.
Put it this way: I wouldn't be any more excited about going to see a team with him in it against my team than I was last weekend against Yeovil.
