Default Managing in MLS

Hey, I've just started a new game as manager of the New York Red Bulls. Has anyone got any hints about managing in this league?

Yea, I got a hint. You're gonna find that they spell words funny like color etc. Other than that, they play 11 players and have a few subs on each team. But try not to play on a sunday as you may have to share the pitch with the Giants which could get messy.....

What Tupoar is trying to say is that there is no tipping in this forum. We believe in achieving glory or suffering failure on our own. If that sounds like something you think would be fun, have a read of the header an the stickies at the very top of the forum.

If that's not for you then that's fair enough, there are other fora where you will be able to get the help you want. Either way good luck with your game.

One thing I will say on a helpful note to get you started. Managing in MLS is the same as managing in any league when you first start. You have to be the manager you want to be. Tatically and mental. Check out you players and your opposition. After you click continue for the first time, GOOD LUCK!

If you want tips on players and tactics, you came through the wrong set of doors! If you want tips on how to manage, my tip is trial and plenty of error. The board and media will give you hints as you go along. If you're real luck, your players might even throw a paddy when you hype up your next game against the bottom place team.... grrr

Isn't 2nd tier available in USA anymore?

If it is, please check the guidelines. We do know that sometimes it is hard to start at the bottom, specially when USA league system does not allow promotion, but you should stick to starting as low as possible. And New York can't be low of the lowest even if USA has only one league integrated.

We do not give tips on anything around here. Finding it out for yourself is usually more rewarding than obtaining intelligence from someone else. So my advice would be: try to improve your tactics based on what you think should work, buy a player that scout recommended and you think would be a decent signing. If oyu do that, you can't be wrong even if you fail to perform.

Only thing I'd say to be aware of in MLS as opposed to other leagues is the draft: not that I'm entirely sure of how it works myself...

Kov: MLS is the lowest playable league in the USA.

Yes, it's football, not soccer.

Yes MLS is the lowest league but are the New York Red Bulls a lower league team? Isn't that more like playing as TNS in Wales. Only one league but TNS are way to rich to be considered LLM.
