Penalty kicks (in Tactics & Training Tips) by ArgyleMan
Any idea what I can train to raise the Penalty kicking skill?...

Doesn't look like two years to me. And every time you have come into LLM before you have been posting in T&T concurrently.
People get chances, but you had yours previously.

What are you trying to do Argyleman? See if Nobby knows how to work the 'view recent posts' feature? I think we know that he does. |

I'll try an answer the original question if I can.
IRL some teams WILL be reluctant to go pro as they just don't have the financial resources to go pro and/or fear the long term effects. Just look at Weymouth and Hornchurch in the UK. They both went FULL time, Hornchurch's backer decided he was losing money and pulled out. Weymouth recently put their whole team up for sale as the F/T wage structure wasn't sustainable.
So as far as FM is concerned, this may apply. It may be programmed that way or it may not. And is any case, who would wanna go full time at Basingstoke?? I know the women are a bit loose but.......

Going fulltime will hurt financially. The costs skyrocket, and income stays the same. Not a good deal.
It's annoying being about the only semi-pro team in the league, and you wish to go pro to attract players, but once you do, you wish you didn't.

Ok, I hate to be the one to point this out, considering recent comments about me being too soft on noobs... but his T&TT post was in January 2006 - over a year ago.
I'm not commenting either way on whether he's truly cut our for LLM or not - that's for him and those with better judgement than me to decide.
What Nobby said about him flitting between the two previously is true though.

He's not done it once. Not even twice. He's done it three times. So why should he be different now?

Nobby, cut it back, please. If you want to belong to the same stereotypical/prejudiced bunch of people LLaMas usually complain about, then go on abusing people just for asking a question (it's not a good question, I agree - but it could have been worse).
One year is a lot of time, after all.

SO, I should have asked how to train Penalty's In here?
I've seen what the LLaMa's do to people who ask similiar questions in this forum, so I took it to the apropriate forum.
I (unlike most of you) do not come from a footballing Nation. My questions may not be good but they are not intended to wind you up. Semi-pro teams in the US are so small they make Basingstoke seem like a premiership squad. They certainly do not have the organization in place for a league.
I read the header and asked an a question where it was supposed to be asked, but apparently That isn't good enough.
Whatever, I'll post where I feel apropriate. After 3 seasons I will post my Basingstoke report here.
I'll send the rest of my questions where they seem most logical to fall.

The issue is that we do things on our own merits in here. If we can't work out how to improve penalty taking by ourselves, that's our loss.

| Well actually, if you want to post about your LLM experiences in here, you should not have asked the question anywhere.
We play a game where we do not seek to get advice or tips on how to improve our training techniques or anything else. We are expected to find out things like that ourselves, by trial and error (mostly error in my case).
When I find something that works either tactically or on the training field, I am always amazed that I did not work it out earlier but I prefer it that way.
