Season 10/11 - Yeading (Conference North)

Still no money to spend, infact yet to spend a £1 on any transfer or signing on fee. Went out both cups at the first qualifying rounds to lower league teams. Started well enough in the league and with ten games to go was a point behind Burton yet twelve points clear of third. Bottle went again, scoring nine goals in last ten games to limp into playoffs. Beat Eight man Altringham 2-0 in 2nd leg to go through 2-1 on aggregate to be dumped out the playoffs for the 5th season running at the Walkers Studium, Leicester 2-0 to York

So near, yet so far. Maybe you can console yourself that at least your team are producing some form of consistancy.

Maybe next year it will all come together, or at least the final playoff game, as you seem to be managing the rest of it just fine.

Season 11/12 Yeading - Conference North

Cups didnt suck ass to start with, that was until i got knocked out by neighbours Hayes in the First Round of the FA Cup. Yet to play a League team during my six year reign. Was going fairly well in the league in 4th place mid January. Unfortunatly Moor Green were 8 points clear so it was to be playoffs again if i wanted to move up a tier (or so i thought)

Season 12/13 Conference National-Halifax Town

Halifax Town currently mid table in the Conference sacked their manager and offered me the post. This was my first job offer whilst at Yeading. After careful consideration I decided to take them up and was offered a twelve month deal. They had a media expectaion of 1st yet the board just wanted mid table repectability. I won my first four games then proceeded to lose my next five. In the end i finished eleven, Halifax's worst finish in six seasons yet their is a lot to build on and at last i have a reserve and youth teams that have competative fixtures. Finances are a worry yet i still spent 20k on two players from Yeading just beafore the end of the transfer window.

I wonder if its possible to keep progressing without actually getting promoted?

If at first you don't succeed, cheat.

I'd have turned them down and got Yeading promoted if it took me 50 years.

Hardly cheating but I must admit I would have stuck with Yeading myself.

What will happen now is that yeading will get promoted without you and offer you your old job back
