What do you use as a guide for realistic transfers. For example I'm playing as Lewes in Conference South and I'm looking at a keeper in the Championship under-18 team. He would probably become my starter if I'm able to sign him.
I'm of he opinion thay if your scouts found him & he's willing to consider a contract then it's fine by me.
Who am I to second guess the young lads motives, if the game tells me he's happy to move & I can afford him then get me a pen, some paper & call my lawyer I have a contract to agree.
if youve scouted the lad, can meet his demands and hes willing then fair play to you. that surely is what LLM is partly about, the ability to wheel and deal.
May I ask you, why you are looking at that keeper in the first place? Did your scouts come up with him? Did he play against your youth team? Was he suggested by one of your players?
If your staff think, you should try it, then I see no reason why not to go for it.
If you just clicked on the youth side of Championship teams and checked their keepers, or used the search filters, then I'd say, that's not realistic.
My scouts did recommend him. I didn't find him through a search of any kind. I just don't get a chance to follow all the different transfers in English football so I didn't know how often a U-18 Championship player would be willing to move to the BSS.
Thanks for the help. I've made my bid....wish me luck.
There was a promising Portsmouth youngster who signed for Bath once, although he bounced back up the leagues pretty sharpish it proves that some youngsters prefer to be a big fish in a small pond.
