LFC Rule is infamous around these parts
Default Stuck with useless Assit Mngr
As stated I am stuck with useless Assit Mngr. The board block my attempts to terminate his contract as it would be too expensivee and won't let me hire a new guy while I still have the old one. Any advice?

I dont think there is anything you can do at all. You could use FMM to change the date of his contract to the next day and then release him for free.

I think you can make another staff member assistant manager - maybe a coach with very good stats. Then you will have two, but the new ass man can be made responsible for friendlies, team talks etc., and can still coach as well.

i had the same problem and i hired a new assistant manager as a first team coach and when he agreed to the contract i renewed it but changed it too ass manager and it worked
