I run XP, I think I had something like my 100 update to the software in around three years, and we reckon SI has a problem ????
I think not.
| The thing is, your basically making excuses for SI to release buggy software and giving them the green light in the future to do the same with other new projects. Patches should be for fixing small problems, not glaringly obvious ones that should be addressed before going gold.
Off the top of my head, bugs that I've seen which have ruined the game for me are goalkeepers taking part in the half-time kick-off, matches continuing to compute during half-time even though you're still trying to do your half-time teamlalk, the closing down bug. These aren't minor problems that can be shrugged off and should never of made release.
I like SI, I think they're a good game developer but they do have a habit of releasing games too early in the last few years which tarnishes their branding. A beta patch isn't an excuse to release games early.

Of course SI is going to tell us it does not take away from the FM development process. That's what I'd do in their position. However, some of us are experienced enough in software development to see straight through this. Having two completely seperate teams for two products that are so similar is a dumb business decision and a waste of time and money. No company with any experience will do things that way.

It's categorically 100% crap, that's not a surmise on my part, I know it as fact.

You're talking throught your rectum.
| The development process does not simply involves typing code. It is far more complicated than that. Lots of code must now be designed for two different projects, limiting the possibilities and complicating the design process. Design meetings between teams on how to design features that work both online and offline, GUI design meetings to ensure there is a common design trend between products.

But, if you want to believe it, be my guest.. </BLOCKQUOTE>
They are not similar products the only things they have in common are the ME (which can be fine tuned to suit FML independantly of FM) and that they have football manager in the title.
Things like player development and morale in FML have to respond to such different criteria that from the base start of the original FM code they are developed by the FML team alone to suit that game.

Unless, of course, you know that it isn't.

There was a good point somewhere about FM2008 being a "sidestep" rather than a move forward
too many features in FM2008 that dont add anything new for the users making it feel like a expansion rather than a new game, which is should be,
Theve got to move it on to another level,
i dont care if we have to have another CM4 type release, aslong as they do something new, fresh approach that unqiue or innovative to make me actually excited again when i go pick my copy up

tell that to the crying 10 year old who is watching carvalho and terry refusing to close down anyone because of some dodgy bug.

You jest right. For goodness sake. Try explaining its a game, and that it will be fixed in the fullness of time.
Better still get them some friends and try some human interaction for a change.
Failing all that, take them to White Hart Lane and watch Tottenham defend, they are so close to their men, their almost in another stadium. </BLOCKQUOTE>
