I can't create a club, a city, a stadium, an injury, a media source or an award in the data editor. can anyone tell my this is and what i can do so i can create all those things?

What do you mean that you can't? The editor won't let you or you just don't know how?
And are you using the latest version of the editor?

and i think i have got the latest version of the editor - i have the version that came with the 7.0.2 patch

I go on the edit menu and then it won't let me click on most of the buttons.
