Hi

Looking for some advice in preventing conceding goals. Played as Burton 2007/2008 Scored 175 goals and conceded 91, more than the winning team Swindon scored for the season. Question is whats a good tactic to prevent this goal concession, even if it means less goals scored.

Its not so much a killer tactic you need to find. It is more just a case of tweaking your own tactic - in particular, the back line.

Are you playing with a deep D/line? or is it quite high? There may be too much of a gap between the defence and midfield which is being exploited.

OR your closing down settings for your players may need a look at.

OR plenty of things really. Are the goals conceded from crosses or from strikers breaking through and away from your defence?

I play a 3-2-3-2 tactic majority of the time, and the main problem seems to be i will have a a high scoring win normally followed for a mid scoring loss, and i was wondering if maybe the AI has cottoned on to my tactic and varied the opposition approach.

Different teams play different styles. One team may have played too defensive or attacking allowing you to score a lot of goals against them. The next team may be sitting back and trying to hit you on the break, so as you're attacking them you're leaving yourself open at the back.

It's not about the AI teams cottening onto your tactics it's just that they look at you and try and figure out how best to play against you depending on how good/bad they are compared to your team.

Have a look at the kind of teams you're getting beat by. Is it teams you should be better than but that you're finding hard to break down? Is it teams that are better than you and you're finding them difficult to defend against?

It does tend to be the teams i'm better than, that seem to be harder to break down, oh one more thing how do i get the arrows when creating tactics

You got 175-91 in just 46 games!! WOW!

I will only say I will gladly concede two a game to score 175. I usually score and concede half that It looks more like 70-50
