its a commonly held belief that any new tactic takes about 8-10 games for your players to get used to the system. so what i would like to know is if you have been using a certain tactic/system and then switch will it take your players the 8-10 games or so to get used to your original tactic if you switch back or should they be able to slot straight back into it

It's more formation and "style" that take getting used to.

Think about it - quite a lot of people switch tactics in game. There'd be no point if you had to give it 10 games to work when there's only 15 minutes left of the game.

I usually keep the same formation and roughly the same tempo and passing. Seem to have got my sides playing pretty settled football pretty quickly.

1. The squad and how often they play together
2. The style of football you employ
