Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

a few of my tactics:

- don't change your gameplan in the first half, apart from plugging holes from sendings off.

- stick with your basic formation the entire match. don't change the number of players in your back line, but by all means place a DM in front of it.

- full back forward runs to 'rarely'.

- place an extra DM in position rather than playing too defensively. you need to push your defence out to avoid a backs to the wall situation! deny them the space in the middle of the park.

defending free kicks, just put ur two forwards on the wall and all the rest as go back or is it man mark watever it is just look at wat the others players are on and put them the same.

with defending corners put all ur players to go back,i havent let a goal in from either a free kick or corner all season.

in a tight game it makes a difference and means they need to score from open play and will need to attack u more hopefully u will hit them on the break!

Think we may have cracked it. Having my full-backs off forward runs has made me defensively stable; I'm not conceding often. Strangely, i'm only scoring one or two per match, but then I'm not losing either.

Wayne Rooney is in a bit of trouble though, he isn't scoring too much, though he has plenty of chances. Mind you, he just lashed in a 30yd screamer, so hopefully that will break the drought. Strangely it's Louis Saha who's my goal machine; that sole up front role seems to suit him!

And thanks for the help so far everybody!

Tottenham just did that against Fulham so it is not you. Pick another team

Well, I like to sub one striker for a defender after 70 mins and play 541 (i play plain 442). Then I reduce the number of player who will go forward on attacking set pieces.
