im currently manager of real madrid, and have found it hard to favour casillas. it's not that i have a better gk at the club, but that he consistently deflects shots to opposition players. inevitably, with an open goal, the opposition scores frequently. it doesn't just happen in 1v1's. frequently happens while in the penalty area.

the current player setting i have for him is similar to that of my DC's (which is defensive). except for tackling.closing down is left at the middle of the slider.

he has stats to suggest that he would not make such mistakes. he has high rushing out stat which would mean that he is capable.

i've wondered what tactical changes i need to make to ward against such atrocities as deflecting the ball to opposition players.

He is probably the best keeper in the game, so hard to see why that is happening. leave most if not all of his decisions to mixed and maybe his ability will just take over.

Do you get a lot of shots at Casillas? If so then the problem is the defense.

Does he have high CF? Lower that

Does he have low morale? Encourage him to increase his morale.

casillas does pull off some good saves. my defence mimics the M as Cleon had stipulated in a recent thread. the defence holds up well.

it is just that the deflection almost always lands at the feet of the opposition.

surely an intelligent player like casillas would know not to do this (decisions rating anyone?)
