Personally, I would say that there is little point if his movement/off the ball is poor. Just because he likes to TRY to beat the offside trap, it doesn't mean he is GOOD at beating the offside trap.
Otherwise, I would stick my midfielders on through balls often (assuming they have adequate creativity and passing skills). Also make your striker the target man with him running onto the ball (also forward runs often, although this may be overkill). Hopefully he'll have a bit of pace about him as well or the defenders could catch him even if he breaks free.
A final thing I would say is that maybe this would only really be completely effective if the opposition are actually playing an offside trap to begin with.
