I just picked up a really good point, always have at least 2 saves. I've only been using one.

Wow that's some quality zealotry with the staff search thing :o I reckon you'll survive With previous FM versions you basically had to search for staff, this time the job centre seems fine though, so use that when you want to hire.
The SYOB thing is kind of out of date with the limits on scouting brought in. I'd say if your club and league indeed does have a higher reputation than other LLaMa leagues then whatever the board tells you should be fine.
As for Frank. Disobey him at your peril Seriously though, you can ask him to reconsider
And finally, I'd start a new thread.

On an odd note to go a bit tippy on this one...
You can check how many staff you can have, if you click on Offer (new) contract, you get a report on how many staff of the type you have and how many can you sign.

Is where Frank sends me gospel? He's pointed me to a club (not telling you yet) with a fairly high transfer budget and wagebill but my wage is peanuts and the club's reputation is around the same as the other clubs. I guess compared to England it wouldn't be lower league but in this particular league it is. Like Charles said, you can ask him to reconsider...but then again, Frank's omnipotent.
I'm a little confused about the SYOB thingie. The board says I can scout the region if I want to, but am I allowed to do that in a LLaMa style? (showing my blondeness) or just scout the region's countries that border onto mine? SYB and SWYCT was devised for when the board gave no indication where you could go...pre FM2007, first one to work. Now, listen to the money men (or lack of money men )
I also think I may have inadvertently done something really really naughty and I apologise if it is naughty. /takes a deep breath and closes her eyes and blurts words out
On the Dorch game I used the staff search screen but not to sign anyone. All I used it for was at the very start of season 1 where I would click on any scout for example and offer to buy. I didn't actually buy him, I just wanted to know what the boards recommendation on satff quntity is, i.e they recommend I should have no more than 2 scouts. I only do that because I can't think of any other way of doing and I believe it is realistic to know how many staff you are allowed to employ. If that is wrong I am sorry and will never do that again. Gasp!!! Three Hail Mary's, a couple of Our Fathers, dress in sackcloth and beat yourself with birch branches and they should serve as acts of contrition suitable for Frank (and a couple of the seedier members of the forum  )
/sits there with puppy dog eyes and quivering lower lip But seriously, like Vlad said.

I mean, ferchrissakes, even the noobs have had the sense to leave this thread alone. Simon, Ian, Charles - I'm scowling at you here.
