Not one player at Chelsea, one of the richest football clubs in the world, agreed to contribute any of their wages to the May Day For Nurses campaign, where footballers are asked to give a day's wages to hard-up Nurses. Of all the 556 Premiership players asked to help with the scheme, only 225 contributed. (News of the World)
And all the premiership players that didn't contribute (if this is the case) should be ashamed of themselves. Some players earn in a a day what many nurses earn in a year - what a joke.
This charity is very stunty, footballers contribute in other ways, and shouldn't be named and shamed for not contributing to this particular charity. Essien gives money to help little blind African children, something I think is better than helping nurses.
