Chairman most likely doesn't want you as an English club to get your hands messy with players from Wales because he's too afraid, your club might get a deduction of a serious amount of points. Or because your scouts don't have expertise with Welsh people or their language. Or forever other reason.

The club said so, and the chairman is always correct.

I think it's fair enough. The guidelines are about encouraging realism, and frankly, a club in southern England is more likely to look in Wales than Northumbria, IMO.

The caveats mentioned apply, of xure - the match has to be at a time when your team doesn't have one, for example.

While I can see an unscrupulous player "trying to gain an advantage", Charles, I reckon for a seasoned LLaMa it's a reasonable enough thing to do.

Point taken Julian. How many LLaMas would make the effort to scout matches though? I'm lucky if I even answer my scout's calls

It is a good point but it's really open to abuse. Does it mean it would be legitimate to scout for a couple of months in a league which runs during the close season of the one you are running?
