Can't answer that mate. All i know is fm is hard graft she lets me do my bit - as long as she can have her couple of hours online at night. Its interesting to see from the other thread the average age of llm's is 32+ that i found a surprise. Just think in years to come it will be 40+.

Just as I was going to go to bed to cheer the gf up after an argument, this thread has convinced me to stay up all night so I don't have to see her tomorrow when I'm sleeping.

I have occassionally scouted players myself, viewed two or three games he's played in when my chairman wouldn't let me scout in Wales when managing in England.

Its your game, do what you think is realistic. I think its realistic for me to scout a player by watching a game myself so I do.

We tend to be older than the average FM player. No point in being average I suppose.

That's fine provided the game you are scouting is at a different time to the game you are playing and of course you factor in travel time, this travel time could differ depending upon the day of the week and time of the match. For example 2pm on A Wednesday may mean you have to take on heqavier traffic than on a Satruday you need to add an extra 30 min to the journey.

I'm off to clean my subbeto players.

So what makes you think your Chairman will pay for you to go to Wales to watch matches when he won't pay for the scouts to do so?

Doesn't sound very realistic to me... sounds like a way to get around the realistic limits the game has set you.

So you're telling me its realistic for a club from Salisbury, not too far from Wales, to allow scouting in the north of England but not in Wales which is much closer to home? Rubbish. The game has geographical faults on the scouting issue.

In my current job I work extra hours because I'm passionate about doing it as well as possible (I'm a teacher). That recently involved me paying for myself to travel to the National Space Centre in preperation for a school trip there. If I was managing Salisbury City and I came across a player in a pre-season friendly, if the club wouldn't pay for a scouting trip, I might just go out of my way to get there myself if he'd impressed me enough.

I don't see anything unrealistic.

It could and probably does happen irl. But in the game it smacks of trying to gain an advantage.
