nonleague, if that is your name. Part of playing LLM is doing it all yourself, and that includes tactics. So if you are following threads about others tactics, you are not then doing it yourself. And around here that is classed as cheating.

And if you really want to play LLM, and continue using others ideas, then you are really only cheating yourself.

Depends how far down the leagues you go. I recently left a tier 7 side who signed and tried them out purely on the basis that they had played for league clubs. Our all knowing chairman even signed some guy who got released by Melbourne Victory purely because of that and him being interested. The guy got here and he was useless, yet still getting more games than the players he was better than.

I've heard similar stories from as high up as League One to the same effect. I remember when Steve McMahon was Swindon boss he used to sign literally anybody who was interested that was released by Everton. As his record with us showed, it worked...

nonleague, if clubs don't come to you saying "this lad was born in your area, give him a look" then how would you know? I'm certain clubs don't keep an eye on every (any?) player who is from their area who plays league football, so they wouldn't know about players being released.

Inviting a player for a trial isn't signing them to a contract, but I'd always be scouting because I have no bloody idea whether or not a player would be good. I certainly wouldn't know after having seen him in one meaningless friendly.
