So you guys dont use the realism of the players unattached list that all clubs recieve in real life? If this is the case then that does not seem very realistic to me.
Yeah of course we do!! We all sign players solely on their names, because that tells us everything we need to know about them. In fact just last week I signed a goalkeeper (S. Hotstopper), a defender (G. Udtackler), a central midfield playmaker (N. Icepasser) and a fantastic striker (S. Hootshard). They seem to be fitting in just fine...

Example there is a 18yo released from Spurs and you are a Con South side surely it would not harm you to invite him along for a trial to see what he is like.
So, your theory is that lower league managers look at this list of unattached players, without knowing anything about them and decide that, as this 18 year old has been released from a premiership club, they will have him down for a trial?
You're avin a laugh ain't you.
He may have been released because he never turned up for training or being constantly drunk.
In real life, there is now a list of players with stats just as in CM that clubs and managers can get access to by joining up to a wbsite. This has only recently been started. So clubs can now search for a DL with good stamina and crossing abilities. I predict, however, that this will still not be acceptable in this forum.

Are we allowed to look at the transfer list and players for loan list and then send out a scout to take a look at them before deciding on making a move for that particular player?
Well I certainly wouldn't.
How is a players name, age and who he plays for going to help you. Why not wait until the seson gets going and your scout finds you some players.

No I'm with the Llamas on this one. The idea of looking at a list of unattached players and just picking one to trial without any scouting of any kind is unrealistic. Otherwise how do you know what you are trialling? Imagine its a company and giving someone a month's trial. Surely you would have to know a little about what they are capable of before agreeing to let them work with you?
Scouting is the only way. No searching if you ask me.

The scouts currently bring up too many players in the first couple of days, although this might be explained by the scout's shortlist he certainly has. It's not like he never ever scouted a player before he started to work for you.
Still a matter that might need to be handled by SI, if they decide to do so.

There is a tread called "Scouts on Speed" in the bugs forum to do with scouts finding too many players. Unfortunately until this is resolved we just have to live with finding too many players.
Personally I just send my scout wandering around the country I am managing in, and obviously later look in different countries when the board lets me.
Once your scout comes back with a list of players he has scouted you can do whatever you want with this list you can filter it for players without clubs, transfer listed etc, just don't go near the Player search screen.
