The problem isn't the regulars, it's new users who come in and attempt to establish themselves whilst blatantly disregarding (not reading) the Forum Rules and Guidelines, which is forgiveable, but not when they spit the dummy and try to say what they're doing is right...rules and guidelines are mixed up...and the pettiness and insults start.
Remember John Rambo? LLaMas never draw first blood
As for my performance as Moderator...that's the way I am, people can like it or lump it. Again, I never act, I always react...read your post immediately previous.

I would be surprised if there are many questions you could ask that wouldn't be covered somewhere in the guidelines. In fact, the chances are that if you can't find an issue discussed in that thread, you're not looking hard enough.

some people should treat newer members of the community better, or these forums may get a bad rep for new people. i am beginning to think they aren't a very friendly place for new people.
Despite your initial impression, this forum is welcoming. Any discrepancy from that can usually be explained once you realise that:
A) We do not suffer fools lightly; and
B) We get an awful lot of fools wandering in here.
Take the time to skim a couple of pages of threads and you'll see plenty of new faces appearing in the last month or two.

and Ian, i dont think you, as a moderator should be degrading members of the forums, by suggesting i have no commonsense. i am a moderator for some other forums, and if i found out a moderator had been treating new members unfairly, because they didn't quite understand all the rules, i would be very angry.

The thing is though, is that plenty of newbies (like myself) come in here and post perfectly decent and enjoyable updates without their thread turning into a squable over what is and isn't LLM. I certainly hope that when I finally post an update (2 seasons to go) it doesn't happen to me because it shouldn't as I have read the rules and will abide by them. Plus I enjoy this forum and the antics of its inhabitants so I wouldn't see the point of making a matyr of myself even if I did disagree on one issue or another - what is there to be gained?
The difference with you Aussie bloke (unlucky for being from the same country as Charles ) is that you seem to have seen and understood what LLM and it's ethics are about, where as the likes of marko haven't and visit the forbidden places.
There's a world of difference. New chaps who respect LLM get respect back in return from long standing llamas.
Stricter LLaMas would never attempt to sign players purely based on the fact they appear as freed in the screen that lists all transfers Worldwide as such a list does not exist in real life. It’s possible to find out such information in the Press, online, etc., but a real life manager doesn’t have access to a transfer screen.
Less scrupulous LLaMas use the screen by identifying freed players and sending their scouts to watch them, signing them or otherwise based on the scouts’ recommendations.
The released players list is made available to real managers through the PFA... It's freely viewable online as well, but it is sent to managers who subscribe to the list...
But... meh. LLM stopped being a challenge a while back, even playing to the rules.
