Rep Power: 0 | Quote: First thing to remember is…LLM is a way of playing the game, it’s not just playing with a Team from the Lower Leagues.
It is just a game, though. It’s counter-productive to get bogged down by rules, although there are a few guidelines which should be heeded in order to play the game in the LLM Spirit.
There’s a rule, though, which is best described as “set in stone”.
Play the game as SI programmed it. That is, install the CM Game, apply the latest official SI Patch, Choose a Team and play the game. That means do NOT use editors or third party updates (i.e. Updates on squads, competitions, etc, made up by persons other than SI).
The reason for this is that playing LLM is about playing the game as realistically as possible. This means trusting the data provided by SI is as good as you can get. Third Party Updates are done by persons who may be tempted to give an advantage/disadvantage to favourite/hated Clubs or Players – note MAY. It doesn’t benefit SI to provide faulty data, so steer clear of other updates.
Editors (The Spawn of Satan) are banned for two reasons. They can corrupt your game and they allow you to cheat, whether it’s producing super-players or swapping Teams from one Division or Nation to another.
Guidelines: The Search Screen.
Some LLaMa’s use the search screen to shortlist players in their area and then send off their scouts to find out how good a player he really is. Other more zealous LLaMas avoid this screen entirely letting their scout do the job for which he was hired ie: finding players. Signing “known” players is a big no no. Known players are ones that are known to you through outside influences, or have been signed and performed well for you in previous games of CM. Regardless of what you tendency is with the Search Screen, no player should ever be signed unless he is first given the once over by one of your scouts.
The Transfer Screen.
Stricter LLaMas would never attempt to sign players purely based on the fact they appear as freed in the screen that lists all transfers Worldwide as such a list does not exist in real life. It’s possible to find out such information in the Press, online, etc., but a real life manager doesn’t have access to a transfer screen.
Less scrupulous LLaMas use the screen by identifying freed players and sending their scouts to watch them, signing them or otherwise based on the scouts’ recommendations.
The “Find” button.
Not used by LLaMas. In order to use the “Find” button you have to know who you’re searching for. This can only be done by having prior knowledge of the player, either by having past experience of him in a previous game or by listening to a recommendation by a player tipper.
Signing Players.
All players should be first scouted before signing for an LL Club. Send your scouts out to Regions or Nations and decide which of the recommendations you’ll sign. Once the financial situation of your Club is better, and the Club’s reputation is such as you’d be able to attract foreign players, send your scouts further afield, keeping it as realistic as possible.
It can be argued that if you play against another Team twice in a season (four times in Scotland) that you would gain enough knowledge of players in that Team through those meetings or watching how the players do in the League against other Clubs to make a bid for them without relying on a Scout report.
| It's all there if you're willing to look and comprehend.
Important bits are in bold.

It clearly doesn't, especially when it is this very post that started the topic.
You clearly aren't LLM, so you're fast going towards becoming the third person on my ignore listen.
| Are you unable to raise a case for your defence nonleague, or are you being ignorant? Ignorance is something I really hate.

What is up with some people on these forums??? I've read what everyone has put, and some people think, because i have not read every rule, about 50 times i deserve to get people with e-ego's having a go at me.
i tried LLM to see how hard it was, not to have arrogant arse hole's with e-ego's bigger than the bloody empire state building, trying to degrade me, by suggesting i should go read every bloody rule 50 times over. i have taken what has been said as an insult, because it seems to me, some people think i am thick, for not reading the rules, over and over.
thank you for your time reading this rant

Okay, you'll do me the same honour by reading this post, Marko.
1) The Rules and Guidelines have been in place since you were in primary school. You think they're funny? I don't care. They're in place for reasons outlined in the Featured Topics.
2) You don't have to read the rules 50 times...once will do, and then you post here whilst abiding by them! No exceptions, no exclusions. The nature of this Forum is such that if you stray from the Rules and Guidelines then you will be told. You wouldn't go to a Jewish function with a Danish Bacon T-Shirt, you wouldn't go to a Moslem do with a semi naked woman as your escort, you don't come in here and make your own rules up.
3) Now, if you have any commonsense you'll re-read the rules and guidelines, acquaint yourself with them, and play by them...or go. Simple as.
Thank you for making the decision whether to comply or to post elsewhere.
Ian.

| i don't think they are funny, some are a bit awkward to abide by, but not funny. And i very much doubt them guidelines are that old.
i just got very agitated by some people saying, read the guidelines, it was on every other post. it is obvious i am new here, there was no need for almost everyone to repeat the same thing. some people should treat newer members of the community better, or these forums may get a bad rep for new people. i am beginning to think they aren't a very friendly place for new people.
and Ian, i dont think you, as a moderator should be degrading members of the forums, by suggesting i have no commonsense. i am a moderator for some other forums, and if i found out a moderator had been treating new members unfairly, because they didn't quite understand all the rules, i would be very angry.

The thing is though, is that plenty of newbies (like myself) come in here and post perfectly decent and enjoyable updates without their thread turning into a squable over what is and isn't LLM. I certainly hope that when I finally post an update (2 seasons to go) it doesn't happen to me because it shouldn't as I have read the rules and will abide by them. Plus I enjoy this forum and the antics of its inhabitants so I wouldn't see the point of making a matyr of myself even if I did disagree on one issue or another - what is there to be gained?
