Default Mutual Terminations

I know that they do happen sometimes in English football, especially with lower league teams having players on short term contracts, or 'pay as you play' deals. Although I wouldn't go as far as to say they are commonplace.

However in my current game, in Belgium, 1 or 2, or occasionally more players, will have their contracts cancelled every week. It seems to be the bigger clubs who do this, meaning that lots of quality players are available to sign outside the transfer windows, of course it should go without saying that none want to play for me.

It got me wondering, has anyone else noticed unusually high levels of terminations, or is it just something that's more common in countries such as Belgium?

I've seen virtually none in Northern Ireland, so it might vary from country to country.

I've only once managed to get a mutual termination through and always end up with terminating contracts and paying the player. And that was my then assistant manager but there is some rule in the game that they will always agree to a mutual termination if you have been hired as manager in the last month.

Really? I'm managing there at the moment and I get loads of news items saying things like, "Paddy O'Pants has been released from his contract by Ballybollox, allowing him to move on" or something. By loads, I mean perhaps 40 a season!

I think that's only to release backroom staff.

My first save in 07 was in Belgium, but I think I only noticed 2 mutual terminations in 2 seasons. It was on 7.0.0 , so I don't know about patched games.

I've rarely seen mutual terminations of contract. I've done a couple myself but they're usually players out of contract at the club who I don't want

The staff who are there when you join a club will always accept mutual termination, I've been able to do this as much as a year later so I don't think there's a limit or if there is I haven't found it.

It was thought to be realistic that an incoming manager would be able to P45 any he didn't want but the cost of paying up contracts made it prohibitive, especially in your exalted world
