Team sucked arse, so had to bring in some freebies - 10 in fact. Rough start to the season saw us in the relegation zone, but we picked up form and slowly moved up the table. The players learnt eachothers' names and by xmas managed to string a few passes together. Decent second half of the season saw us grab the last playoff spot on the last day. Got through the semi-finals, but lost the final to Nuneaton.
Rated overachievers of the season, and a striker made best buy \o/

Board offered me a new contract, but it was impossible to increase my wage, or in clause for improving training facilities. In the end they gave me an ultimatum, and I bit.

Higher expectations this year, but I thought it went down the drain when last year's topscorer and fans' POTY broke a leg in our first training match and was out for 5 months. Argh! Brought in 8 others and sold/released a bunch of others for nothing. Aweful start to the season with 1-5 and 0-2 losses. As last year form picked up, and we were not out of the playoff spots for the whole season, bar the first 5 or so games. Gateshead were untouchable as they had Newcastle as parent club, but we did finish 2nd behind them. Another chance at the playoffs. This time with better luck. We played horrible and deserved to lose, but somehow managed to beat Yeading 2-1 \o/

Actually expected to do fairly okay, but the whole season was a fight with out backs against the wall. The relegation ghost hung over us the entire season. Brought in 5 players to help us out, and released almost two teams, but it didn't do much good. Managed to go from embarrassing to laughable during the season, which in the end saved our arse from relegation. Finished 17th after doing well against the other teams at the foot of the table.
Oh, and Norway came knocking on my door twice, no actually trice. Twice for the senior job, and once for the U19 post. Shot them down all three times.

Glad we survived, but it was a very close call. Best DC got injured for 10 months in the season run-in, so had to play a 18yo instead. Not great, but he did the job. Also ended up with 6 strikers, so two of them got pissed off. They were let loose this summer.

Have set the full-time contract limit at £100, and have thus managed to bring most of my first-teamers on FT contracts. Hoping to turn pro soon as nothing with two legs without an eye-patch want to join our fight for survival. Will hurt the wallet when the time comes though.

This is on the borderline of tipping, but as it's not up to you or me, it's okay. When you go pro, players will demand higher wages. Sometimes straight away, but certainly when renegotiating contracts. More players will join as the club has a higher status, but they will demand good pay. Therefore it will hurt the wallet.
