2011/12: Redditch United - Conference National
Board: Resepctable league position
Fans: Respectable league position

Started the season with finally going Pro!!! \o/
Bookies gave us 7-4, which meant we should be up there fighting - which we were. Rushden were made of something else, but we installed ourselves in the play-off spots early on. Some tactical changes sat us off on a decent 31-league games without a loss (:eek

, which left us fighting with Rushden in March, as they had somewhat let go of their untouchabilitiness, including losing 1-0 to us (lady luck smiled on us that night!).
It was obvious this one would go straight down to the wire. The teams behind us started to catch up, but going into the final game it was a two-horse race for the title.
We were two points ahead with better goal-difference, so only needed a draw. Rushden played midtable obscurity Dag & Red at home, while we faced already relegated Gravesend away. Rushden scored a 89th minute winner in a 2-1 win. We faced 11 men in defense, but did manage to score in the 68th minute, to grab a well-deserved 1-0 victory. League football awaits next season
Rushden also got promoted.
Kept asking the Board of Dictators to upgrade our facilities, but they kept giving me dirty looks, and the chairman stopped talking to me during the morning-coffee
Made some good signings. A ST started out brilliant, but then went 20 games without scoring. Yet another ML (I'm a collector by now

) ended up as starter, and another ML looks very promising, and is strangely valued highest in the team, despite only coming on in the odd game. Best signing however was a new goalie that almost single-handedly secured promotion. Got him on a free too
Let go of some whiners and deadwood, but lost my brilliant DL to L2 Macclesfield on free.
Have a fairly young team, but we are well covered in all positions (at least before the summer transfer window), so I hope we will be able to survive next year without too many summer-signings. Will be a struggle though. Looks like there's a huge increase in quality from CON to L2.
Was named manager of the year, 3 players made team of the year, and best striker past 3 seasons got 3rd in league-goals. Once again we get most points away. Weird.

Almost a shock in the English PL, as Man Utd were 14th with only 10 games to go. Somehow ended 3rd though.
