Essentially if i do not offer a youth contract player what they want, they do not respond to my contract offer (if i make any changes to what they want)
As you can imagine this is somewhat frustrating as they often ask for appearance fees which bump up the wage paid. Therefore making it hard to keep my wage bill down at lowly Bishops stortford in the conference south.
Has anyone come across this and is it a bug or am I just missing something in terms of knowledge of what can or cant be offered to a youth contract player signing a pro-contract.
Would appreciate some help as this seems to have been totally ignored in the general discussion forum.
Thanks very much for any help, I really would appreciate it.
Mike

I can't say that I have noticed myself, but then again most of my youth team are so crap i wouldn't offer then the time of day not to mind a contract. And the odd decent player well they don't ask for a lot so I tend to give them what they want.

Connor, you'd be better taking heed of the guys in GQ on this.
In LLM we tend to concentrate on the practicalities of the game as opposed to looking for bugs (obviously if one runs up and bites us on the arse then we do summat about it ).
Personally, if I'm going to offer a youth a contract it's because I want him to play, in which case I make sure I get him...in many cases regardless of what it does to the wages (Board takes care of the money, if the give me it then I'll spend it and suffer the consequences).
Bishops Stortford, eh? Bastards just beat me 3-0 in the Conference South

I have staff to deal with this kind of thing, many other things to do. Although I do go through them now and again getting rid of the worst of them, that part's more entertaining.
"son, can I have a word in yer shell?"
"yes Guv"
"Look lad, it's like this. Yer pish, and I'm gonnae have tae let ye go."

I can get all of my Fred's to sign a full time contract.
The problem I have, is that they are all a complete load of excretement, and in 8 years of trying, I am still yet to find one that has become even a fringe squad player .
