I started with Leigh in my first ever LLM conquest. And it was going well (ConNor, ConNa, ConNa, L2, L1, Champ) I thought "Hey, maybe this LLM business isnt so tough after all", however, I was totally wrong, my team dropped from the Championship like a lead balloon all the way down to L2, finishing bottom, with only 1 player above a 7 on average. Despite my buying of several players dubbed by my scouts as "definate purchases", and "would be a leading star for any Championship Side", I found that none of these could hit a barn door (probably would even miss the barn). Im wondering, should I try and keep my team around the pkay-offs, and maybe try to build a team that can win the league in a few seasons, or should I keep going with what Im doing, becuase although the money is nice in the higher leagues, any player I do buy seems to be off to some team for a pittance of what I would accept for them.
Im considering, going back to conference (N/S), but im gonna see what I can do with Leigh, becuase the fans, as well as the chairman still are happy with the Job im doing, despite large debts due to a big increase in budjets when in the champiosnhip, and now im a few grand over every season in the wage department.
I always play in Lower Leagues, and I've never had a slide down the leagues.
Thats becuase, if I get 2 successive promotions, I bunker down and create a team which will finish midtable, without over exerting themselves. Then I build up finances, inprove facilites and establish myself inn the new league, and then push for promotion.
I find that, in the even of relegation after promotiion, you'll still be able to finish midtable and stop any slide from happening
I am back in the Championship now, and am stable-ish-ish (18-20th consistently), but I think that It may have been too soon for the team, and I should have maybe waited a few seasons before going up the ranks.
Now remember realism... So here you are final game of the season, if you win you are in the playoffs. You stick your under 16 squad out on the field and just to make sure you decide to play you left winger in goal. 10-0 at halftime.
That should make for a very interesting board meeting afterwards
