I move to the edge of Scouseland and take on the boys that have returned from Iraq.
I inherit a fairly good squad, which gives me a good platform to work from.
And I have a very good season. My striker bangs in 35 goals in 47 games and it propels us to within two points of leaders Stafford with three games to go. I beat Stafford in the third last game but then lose the last two to blow the title.
Conference North: 2nd, 76 points. Lose in playoff semi final to Stalybridge Celtic.

All leagues full - England

Huge database
2005/6 - Workington (Conference North)
I decided on Workington before Glyn came up with the LLM Challenge over at SI. No doubt most will know about them now because of the Challenge.
Whole season sucked arse. Right from the first friendly (lost 0-6 to Bury with a 1-28 shot count) to resigning in shame, already relegated with four games left.
The only highlight was a 7-1 win at St Albans City, which unfortunately was in the F.A. Trophy.
Conference North: Resigned with four games left when bottom and relegated.

A very poor start to the season sees us bottom after seven games. However, the cups kick our arses up to gear and we steadily rise up the table thanks to a consistent season.
However, those first seven games cost us the Conference North title as we finish three points behind the winners.

Close season news sees my God like striker being sold. After scoring 83 goals in 119 games (including 44 in his final season), there are currently five teams bidding as my game got saved.
