It's not just me managing with Weston-s-Mare then!
My first season I got promoted too (via playoffs) along with Sutton Utd (who keep buying and loaning REALLY good players while no-one wants to sign for me!).
Although I'm currently 6 games into my second season (and first one in conference national) and doing ok. Won one, lost 1 and drawn 4 - although one of the draws was cos i got a penalty in the last minutes so was damn lucky.
At the end of the first season I was half hoping I wouldn't go up - The team's nowhere near good enough for the Conference National, and I'd have to play against Woking (who I support IRL and have as my favourite team)! On the plus side though the reserves and U18's get into leagues (I'm 8th in the reserves and 13th in the U18's).

| I would have thought they woould already be your rivals anyway as you can have more than one rival </BLOCKQUOTE>
Newport Co and Clevedon are the rivals for W-s-M.
Would be interesting to know if you could make new rivalries tho....

You'll find the reason why you were offered the international jobs is because at the start of the game you selected your previous experience as "International Player", which would mean in the game your reputation is continental, possibly even World Class.
For the full on LLM I would recommend choosing "Sunday league".

It's a valid point. I've heard stories that the initial experience option makes quite a bit of difference. Almost a difficulty setting, if you will.

Of course. As an international player you are given the backing of the club and fans, as far up as the Championship, from a little test, when I took over Watford as an ex-international at the start, the fans were overjoyed.
It's just a way of helping inexperienced players be given a bit more time to adjust to each management role they start at, if they so please. If you want the real cut and thrust I'd say go Sunday League, but if you're a Weymouth or Cisco Roma kind of guy, go ex-international.

| Halifax, NS, Canada, which is approximately 3700 km away, not Halifax, England. Though both would work equally well in the local rivalries argument.
And the accepted setting in here is "automatic" or whatever it's called. We're not ex-internationals here. We are all nobodies. Maybe if someone played for their country, could they be accepted as ex-internationals in here, but I'm pretty sure nobody is.

That would explain the whole being offered international jobs thing.
