Question about youth contracts in 07 following LLM protocol.
You will find this posted in another forum, but I've not found resolution to this yet. Maybe, this forum can provide the answer?
I prefer playing LLM style, however, I ask general questions to help me understand the game more clearly, not so I can cheat.
Please help if you can.
Background: I've been hired as a LLaMa in South Africa.
The club chair told me in his letter that the club has a "perilous" financial situation (under "summary" in finances, it indicates nearly 1 Million dollars in the red).
He stated my "payroll" is limited to 30K annually. (Does this mean coaching, scouts, and physios?)
My player's salaries are nearly 200K and the board is "comfortable with the finances" every monthly Board Summary update.
I assume my "youth" players are FT training because I can move the training sliders farther to the right than I can move my "senior" PT players.
Even with every coaching option for contract negotiations turned off for every level of my club, I still get news reports that my youth players "have signed a contract" (for 3 seasons at 4K a season). Additionally, their training status automatically slides to PT even though they are still U-19.
Background finished...
Problem: My U-19 players cost more in salary than many of my PT senior players. These youth also are less worthy to take the field and my budget only stretches so far.
When I try to renegotiate their contracts to get parity with my existing senior players making 2-4K a season, I cannot offer less than 4K during the contract negotiations.
Is this a bug?
Am I misunderstanding how contracts work in FM O7?
Will you please help me? We have just come off summer vacation and I'm requesting some constructive help (even if you personally feel South Africa is the worst place to start a career).
Thanks.

Question about youth contracts in 07 following LLM protocol. Post #2
The first problem you have is your assistant begotating youth contracts. Go on Manager>Options and untick 'assitant offers new contracts'.
Now, the wages. In some sort of professional legislation, a player under 24 years old cannot be offered a contract lower than his current one. SO your youth players on say 5k a year cannot be offered 4k a problem.
And a small tip. To check the contract type of your palyers, click on that players profile and click on 'transfer'. It will say Full time or PArt time as contract type

If he wants to post this question here (so as to not violate LLaMa code), he should be able to post it here. To tell him to go to GQ and then have him get flamed here for posting there is not right.
Amack1n, I have wondered about this question thank you for answer.

That it may be, Kriss, but it's asked within LLM rules and someone here might be able to help.
IMO, amack1n has made a couple of the key points, cupric equine bloke. Your AssMan is obviously set to offer youth contracts, so he is. He'll offer PT as it's what the rest of your squad is on, so if the youths are nominally full time on youth contracts, they'll go part time on going pro, bizarrely enough.
You can turn that off in Manager Options, and negotiate your own contracts for the kids.
The board might be comfortable with losing money. I let them worry about it and go by what they tell me.

If you can construe what I said as flaming you have serious problems. I didn't make the forum rules here but I did take the trouble to read them.

First rebuttal: I do have exclusive option to negotiate all contracts. I have ticked off every option for someone else to negotiate the contracts, yet I still get the messages. That is what is confusing me.
Second rebuttal: Generally speaking, when I do post an inquiry type forum in GQ or TT&T, then I get responses based on people playing with fully professional teams. As a LLaMa, many of their well-meaning responses are moot because I don't have professional teams and million dollar budgets. Therefore, as ArgyleMan supported, I voluntarily chose to post this particular inquiry here. I want to play as a true LLaMa. I desire the full challenge this lifestyle offers, even if it means I toil in futility in job after job for my entire career.
Flame me if you need to. Ban me if necessary. I'll still play as a LLaMa. These actions will only result in reinforcing my ignorance of the game's wonderful subtleties and this forum may still reinforce the horrible reputation it has among the forums, repelling as many newbs as it attracts.
I await the verdict and accept the decision without whining. I'm sure the heavy hitters (iajafer, nobby, maybe even Church will weigh in too).

Rebuttal? Chill. The question was posted within LLM rules, and while Kriss could have phrased his reply better, you've not been attacked over it.
It's really bizarre that your kids are signing contracts if you're not offering any and nor is your AssMan. That would infer a bug to me. I'd try setting him to offer, saving, then turning the option off again to see if it clears it, and if not, report it as a bug.
Oh and btw, GQ isn't mutually incompatible with LLM, lads. It's not a pleasant place, if you ask me, and there's many cans of worms there you don't want to touch, but it isn't mutually incompatible like the unholy trinity are.
