Season 2009/10
I signed up for Slough Town on 80 quid a week for a year...they'd offered me 4 years...and set about the task.
Scout sent out for freebies, put vacancies in the Job Centre, mutually terminated my AssMan ( ;luciano: ) and awaited results (£0 transfer funds).
Whilst I was waiting a Scot applied for a coaching job, so I signed him up as AssMan, and I had a look at my Brasilian shortlist, asked my AssMan to have a look, and signed a couple of samba-boys, an MC and a DC.
After an appalling start, 5 friendlies, 3 losses and two draws, aggregate score of 3-17, and a league start of 5 losses on the trot, we managed to get a bit of form going and finished up a highly creditable 5th, playoff space, and went on to beat Forest Green 2-1 on aggregate and Farnborough in the final 1-0 to gain promotion.
Conference South
5th: P42, W21, D11, L10, Gf71, Ga42, Pts74 (Tamworth won the league an almighty
38 points ahead on 112, although one of their two losses was at home to us  )
FA Cup: 2nd round, lost 2-1 at home to Millwall.
FA Trophy: semi-final, rudely abused by 'alifax over the two legs 7-1 on aggregate
One Internationalist, Northern Irish SC for the U-21s.
The samba-boys did well, but I fear we'll lose at least one of them over the close season.
New contract offered, £95p/w for four years, negotiated to £120p/w for a year.
Average attendance: 1323
