Default Forest Green Rovers

My first try at FM - starting with my favorite team, Forest Green. Using 7.0.1 patch and data, so I benefit a little from the new RL manager's mid-season changes.

2006-07 - Conference National

Everyone: Fight Bravely
Actual Finish: 13th (P46 W18 D13 L15 GF70 GA61 Pts67)
FA Cup: 1st round (Darlington)
FA Trophy: Runner-up (Weymouth)

Did OK for my first season, made 3 dumb signings and 3 smart ones (including Slovenian FC, Scottish DC). Couldn't sell anyone and stupidly tried to win the FA Trophy. We lost to Weymouth 1-0 at Wembley - I believe my players were tired from dodging the construction cranes. I also managed to lose 650k.

Leading scorer/Fan's Player: DM/AssMan, 17
Best Youngster: Scottish DC

2007-08 - Conference National

Everyone: Fight Bravely
Media: 19th
Actual Finish: 6th (P46 W22 L14 D10 GF88 GA54 Pts80)
FA Cup: Second round (Leyton Orient)
FA Trophy: Third round (Aldershot)
Leading Scorer: Slovenian FC (27 goals)
Fan's Player: Scottish DC

Loaned a Thai teen FC and an Icelandic teen FC (Nailsworth is all about diversity). Stuck 3 points from the playoffs - massively disappointing. Couldn't sell anyone but at least could make some leave on free. Managed to lose another 200k.

We won our Under 18 league. Still waiting for the prize money for that one.

Factoid: Boston United, relegated to the conference last year, makes the FA Cup semifinals, but finishes mid-table.

Factoid 2: Euro 2008 - Spain 1-0 England

2008-09 - Conference National

Everyone: Steer Clear of Relegation
Media: 15th (but 2-1 odds for promotion)
Actual Finish: 3rd (lost in playoff semis to York, 7-4 aggregate) (P46 W26 D8 L12 GF96 GA59 Pts86)
FA Cup: Third round (Swansea)
FA Trophy: Semis (Oxford)
Leading Scorer: Slovenian FC (26 goals)
Best Youngster: Icelandic FC

Another disappointing end to a great season, could've gotten auto-promoted with a win in our final game, but lost 2-1. Playoff was a car wreck. We were overachievers of the year, though.

Managed to craft a back-loaded offer for the Icelandic FC, who scored 20. Sold my best GK and got some cash infusions to break even.

Factoid: Arsenal wins the league 3 years running and wins the treble this year.

A tentative KUTGW from me.

Seems a bit of a "league of nations" job though!

Looking good with a strong goal scoring frontline, what a shame you had to sell your GK never mind.

Is the league of nations thing a known bug? I wondered why all these strikers from foreign lands would come play at The New Lawn while most English FCs wouldn't dream of setting foot in the locker room.

The players were all on English clubs when my scouts found them...

Nah, when a LLaMa refers to a "League of Nations" he generally means there's an element of dubiety about the LLM-ness of a game.

You say they were found in England, then sobeit

KUTGW!

And I wouldn't worry about the finances, as long as your within your budgets, it's up to the board to deal with it.

Well, that's how i see it.

May not be Conference regionals, but looks to be a promising beginning to your maiden LLM career.
