I started my first FM 2007 game as Macclesfield, got relegated and sacked shortly thereafter. I took a job with Bishop's Stortford in Conference South and promptly sank them to the bottom of that table as well (near the bottom, anyway). I was going to ask what I need to do to regain promotion to Conference South, especially as I don't seem to be part of a league anymore. This question is now moot to some extent, as I find I have been sacked again. I guess I'd still like an answer.
Also, what do I need to do to register for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy?
Thanks - I'm sure if this post doesn't belong here you'll all let me know!

How to get promoted to Conference North/South Post #2
I got a parent club, but no one from the club had any interest in going on loan to my tiny, crummy club.
I've been hired by Nordhorn in the German Regional Division North - good thing many of the players and staff speak English! We'll see how it goes, thanks for the help.

Vekven, you appear to be a non British poster, so I'll explain the feeder club situation in England (and indeed the other British leagues).
Whilst feeder/parent club relationships are common place in mainland Europe, and between top British teams and teams from other countries worldwide, they are banned by each Football Association in Britain with another domestic club. So for example, a link between Stoke City and Stafford Rangers (two clubs within 15 miles of each other) is not permitted.

I'm about to buy FM07 (I had been playing 06 up until this point) and what I have heard about the feeder club situation was one of the main reasons I hadn't bought 07. From what I've heard it seems like the feeder club relationship isn't up to you as the player. So what happens if I start my campaign with Workington Reds again and the chairmen signs us up to be a feeder club for someone? Has it been addressed in a patch so that it won't happen in Britain? If not, what should I do if that happens?

As a player, you can simply never request a feeder club.
The board will sometimes arrange one without your input. It is a minimum one year term for these arrangements, at the end of which you can simply cancel it. The way to work round it is to refuse any players offered to you on loan by the club in question.
There is one 'feeder club link' which wrongly comes under this umbrella, and that is where two clubs agree to play a pre-season friendly every year, which is permitted and is common place as the money this brings in to the small club helps them immensely in their annual struggle for financial survival. My local team, Newcastle Town play annual friendlies against the two local league sides, Port Vale and Stoke City, both games getting crowds of at least 2000. This then sets Newcastle up financially for the whole season, as their average league attendance is around 150.
