Season 4 Expectations Respectable league position.
My expectation possibly promotion or close, the board have upped the transfer budget to £400k and the wage budget to £36k.
Hope it’s not a false dawn.
Won’t risk asking for training upgrade, they told me I was spending too much time in their office last time.
Finished 4th P 34 W 17 D 10 L 7 F48 A 32 Pts 61
Whee! What a season, started horribly with a spate of injuries even played a grey keeper for 3 matches. My squad is small so I just had to pad it out with stiffs & tough it out.
By the end of November we are 16th & the chairman has expressed doubts about me for the first time ever. It turns round just as dramatically as it started, 6 wins on the trot into January & we rocket up the table, couldn’t make up all the ground & finish 4th, missing promotion by 1 point
The cup is our forte, this time we break the 5th round barrier and unbelievably knock out 3 Super League teams on our way to the clubs first ever final, our opponents Olympiakos have won it 24 times so we are kind of outsiders.
A goalless match saw us lose out on pens.
So we fell at both final hurdles but so, so close, 4 seasons and won nothing yet but the club are hugely richer now and I am content, at least for the moment.
Other Highlights
31st March new 2 year contract £1,000 a week, wage budget up to £43k & transfer budget up to £470k
Slovenian striker breaks 2 club records, 26 league goals & 54 career goals.
No predictions for next season, that’s a mugs game.

Stop press! super duper bonus! Olympiakos won the Superleague as well, so we're in the Euro Cup next season. ooooeeee!

I was quite well into the 4th season when I eventually plucked up the courage to post my first update.
Also, night shifts mean 8 hours solid FM & the wife thinks I'm gainfully employed when I huddle over my lap top in the corner.  | |
