close to the end of the season. in contract negotiations with a couple of great prospects and a few over the hll but useful types who all, regardless of age, decide to retire. all these players had 10+ clubs interested in them????? wtf!

has my game gone tits up or is this a common problem for others?

This is known to happen. I am not sure whether it is a bug or that it reflects real life.

It may have something to do with the players we end up trying to sign but the retiring 19 year old does seem to happen a little too often, I tend to think it's the game trying to create space for the regens.

I appreciate there are some young players that get lost to the game because they lack the drive, belief or whatever to prove that they have something to offer the game but there appears too be many 'if I can't play for Arsenal I can't be bothered' sorts in FM rather than the 'I'm 38 so might aswell call it a day' players that get deleted from the database.
