hello i am new to this.
i've playing fm08 now for 3-4yrs on the game.
and for some reason some foriegn players cant seem to get work permits even though they are eligible for europeon permits?
any help?

In England the players must have a work permit.
There are few things affecting this (I might be wrong, but its how I experienced this)
1) U21, and mainly playing for national team affect this (easear to get Marcelo Salas, than Sustik Villar (who noone heard of, with no international appeariance).
2) reputation, its easear to get work permits for players if you are manchester, chelsea instead of leeds, york.

helps yeah, still i dont understand why if players are already eligble for european permits and they still cant get clearance to play in england. i.e. i bought kalou from chelsea to manchester united and he was eligble for dutch nationality, yet he still couldnt get wp, i could sign him but had to loan him to one of my affliates?

well some problems happen if they dont play a certian amount of games which could stop them from making the full transfer you need over 90 percent i think

he shouldnt have a problem kalou was a recent signing so maybe he didnt play the required games to qualify for the uk passport

cheers lads, this has enlightned me abit more.
its just annoying as hell when i can sign someone who has a eligble thingy for i.e. holland or belgium but still cant get the work permit. would they have to play say in belgium for 3yrs to become of belguim nationality to resolve this?

They should definitely give you the option to ask the player to take dual nationality, otherwise there's no point in all that info where it says 'xxx' days to be eligible for whatever nationality...

can he still play for chelsea? well he needs to play the amount of games required send him out for a year if it dont resolve this then just sell him on or give him back to chelsea

this would be great if they did introduce daul nationalitys, it would solve alot...
as far as kalou is concerned, i sent him to belgium and for 2 years, and still no work permit..
good news is he only cost me £3.5million, so i shall sell now, i already have enough wingers
