Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but the player ratings systems is starting to bug me in FM08.

I have no issue with it being almost impossible to achieve a 10. That's a good thing as a 10 means perfect to getting it should be extremely rare. But all too often player just end up getting a seven. It seems the only way to achieve a 8 or higher is to score or to assist a goal. This therefore favours forward players and so it become impossible of defenders to achieve an averasge rating over 7. I've had centre backs appearing to have played blinders by winning headers and tackles, blocking shots etc. but he'll still only score a 6 or 7.

The ratings aren't elastic enough.

Is this fixed in the patch?

I dont really know. Whenever my players plays well and we win I get quite a few 8's. Never seemt o get 9's or anything on players that doesnt score though, and that kinda bugs me.

Also, the DM player seems to be stuck at 6 or 7 all the time, even when highlights show him having a great game.

same for attacking midfielders, they had some really nice passes (create 1 on 1 chances) but still end up with 7 because all the changes were ruined by forwards.

Lehmann got a 10 yesterday. beat Werder Bremen 4-0, but got hammered. saved over 20 shots :eek:

but any AM that i use in a CM position always gets a 6. Van Der Vaart ffs!

the patch fixed that problem for me.... defenders and midfielders who don't score but play good get the grades they deserve... but my defensive midfielders never get above seven if they don't score

Yh i also see this happen. Plus the fact that one silly mistake usually from a defender for some reason warrants a rating of 4-5! It is definately favoured towards forwards

Well my defenders never get above 8, unless they score, even if they totally dominate, tackles, headers and interceptions they are stuck on 8. I have a AM/RC that occationally play the MC though, and he scores regular 8's.

Im nearly finished my season with AC Milan and only two defenders have AvR over 7. And my defence has been the second best in Serie A. Also DM Pirlo and AMC Kaka have quite low rating (<7,50) even though they were the two best players in my squad this season. It is hard to get 9 or 10 which is good but in FM2007 it was easier to compare player forms, now everyone gets either 6 or 7 unless they play a great game or score.
