As you can see FM 2008 pulled off a very impressive performance across the board. However how many people in this forum here will score FM the same way?
Assuming that the reviews were carried out on FM 08 1.0 which had the closing down bug - obviously judging from the scores it wasn't that much of an issue. In fact I don't even think many of the reviews mentioned it...
Does this suggest then that indeed FM 2008 is a thoroughly good game and that we fans are just far too demanding?
Or does it show a worrying trend that these game reviews were obviously rushed out without thoroughly testing the game over a sustained period of time?

It's definitely justified, many people forget how good the game is and just whine all day long. Try playing FIFA Manager and you will be able to tell the difference.

gotta agree with GG especially on the PES front. They review it as if it is god's gift to football fans and as if no one could ever find fault in it even though the off the ball running of attackers (lets stop running so my teammate can't cross to me for a easy tap in) is woeful and the defending (3 men going for 1 striker) is often worse. It also has poorly introduced new features (ref plays advantage when there is none yet gives the free kick when you wouldda been through on goal). The developers also seem to think that adding silly things like 1 or 2 more tricks players can do is more important than fixing glaring match engine issues.

If there was no trust in the devs and we just thought that they are a bunch of losers nobody would be "whine" here "all day long" , the game does have potential and SI are experienced enough to take our constructive criticism and correct their mistakes .
No this year's game is not good , i am trying to understand the philosophy of the devs and how they ended up to what i believe to be wrong decisions.
FIFA08 is a very good game for EA standards and after spending one afternoon tweaking AI files the match engine runs better.
